Metro Manila,
Philippines
APRIL - JUNE 2005
Dear Friends and Family,
On May 4th, we celebrated
our one year anniversary as missionaries to the Philippines. Tina prepared
a
special turkey dinner with all the trimmings, just like an American
Thanksgiving. We thank God
everyday for all the blessings and provisions
given to our family. We also want to thank you for
your continued prayers and
financial support during the year.
March 2005
Medical Mission
Team
Eastside Foursquare Church team was joined by
teams from Lifestream Worship Center, Renton, WA and
Kings Way Foursquare
Church, San Mateo, CA. 20 members were led by Gary Requa to Manila on March
7
to the 17. It was great to see the 3 churches join forces to serve. They
were able to do 4 medical brigades,
visit church plants to pray and encourage
the pastors of their communities, and hold a music training
seminar led by
Pastor Brian Goodell and his worship team from Kingsway Foursquare Church, San
Mateo,
CA. They also held 2 outdoor concerts at different church plant
communities. Over 400 people attended
each concert.
April 2005
Foursquare National
Convention
We were able to attend the Foursquare
National Convention in Davao City on April 19 to the 23. Over 2,000
nationals
attended. We also visited Tina's cousins and gave us a nice tour of the city.
The city reminds us
of how Manila was perhaps 30 years ago. No traffic, no
pollution and less people. Davao is a city of 1.8
million people and located
in the Mindanao Islands, south of the Philippines. Although Muslim is the
major
religion in Mindanao, Davao is a Christian region and felt very safe.

CAB Team Mission
Trip
The College and Beyond Team from Eastside
Foursquare Church visit Manila once again. This is the
group's second year to
come do ministry. The team of 17, led by DJ Vick, were able to do a mini
basketball
camp and vacation bible school for approximatley 100 children in
six church plant communities. The team
also held exhibition games against
local players in the communities after each camp. There was usually
200-400
attending the games. During half time of the game, some members of the team
shared their story
of how they came to have a relationship with God, followed
by a brief message by the church plant pastor.

Preschool Teachers In-Service
Institute
The preschool teachers held their first
In-Service Training at Jabez Campsite in Cavite, south of Manila.
40 teachers
from 2003 and 2004 were in attendance for the 2-1/2 day recurrent training. They
enjoyed the
speakers, food and fellowship with one another. Tina and Carina
were asked to teach a segment on songs,
rhyme and action. The teachers said
that Carina was the youngest speaker they've had and did very
well. She said
she was nervous but you wouldn't know it. She remembered most of the songs
and
actions from her preschool days seven years ago. We are so proud of her
for being involved.

School Over - Summer
Begins
Cameron and Carina finished their first
school year at Faith Academy. We can't even begin to tell you how
thankful we
are for finding the school. This has been the best transition for them as they
have met many
friends and enjoyed belonging to a school. Carina will be in
middle school next year, 6th grade, and
Cameron will be entering high school
as a freshman. Carina learned how to play the flute and will continue
to be
in band next year. Cameron was awarded "Most Creative" on his letter opener
project in Industrial
Arts class. During the summer, we will be taking road
trips around the country. There is so much more we
haven't seen on this
beautiful nation.

Baby Hyla Turns a Year
Old
What an honor it was for Pete to be one of the
godfathers for Baby Hyla's baby dedication. Baby Hyla
turned one in May and
continues to amaze her doctors. As you can see, she is very healthy and
strong.
She now walks in a walker and is very active. No operation has been
done and yet continues to be a
miracle. Her sister Hannah is also doing very
well. She was diagnosed with a thyroid problem and is now
on medication and
vitamins to help her grow.
